We help you knit eco-friendly items

The Road to Knitting is passionate about the environment. We understand that everything has a carbon footprint. We are on a mission to help everyone reduce their carbon footprint as much as possible. To do this we offer patterns for the kitchen, the bathroom, and for Christmas items that can replace disposable products such as pan scrubbers and dishcloths.

Knitting wool is also the perfect reusable item. Just unravel knitted items to create something new. Such recycled wool would be ideal for making our road patterns. Using up wool oddments, left over balls of wool and end of line wool is also a great way to be eco-friendly. Our Snakes and ladders blanket is ideal for this as it uses lots of squares of different coloured wool.

About The Road to Knitting.

Hi, my name is Sonya and I create the patterns for The Road to Knitting, but when I’m not working on patterns for here I make products for our sister company Jefferson Crafts! Jefferson Crafts sells “beautifully crafted eco items for your home”. Our ethos is all about getting people to live more sustainably, so I thought why not share the eco love with my Road to Knitting fans? I have decided to put our eco-friendly wipes, soap saver, scrubber, and dishcloths knitting patterns onto one super value pattern pack for you.

Knitting Blog

Our blog has extra information about the patterns, such as a comprehensive article about our eco-friendly wipes, soap saver, scrubber and dishcloths knitting patterns. We recommend the best yarn to use so they are durable enough to be put in the washing machine with your clothes, but can also be put in a bowl of boiling water to sterilize them. If they are made from cotton or Jute then at the end of life they are biodegradable or compostable, apart from the scrub yarn.
